Your Life Show is For Yourself

You must be brave and see through your fears. Are you the entertainer of life or is life entertaining you? What do you choose? Life doesn’t go by what you want. Entertain and look beyond. Look and live in both dimensions and then live in the third dimension. Live beyond the spiritual and material realms. Live in the place of the hidden dragon. You understand this when begging on your feet for three months.

Your life show is for show to yourself, not for show to others. One mistake we humans often make is that, “life is a stage and life is a play.” No! This is like prostitution. You are asking for approval and hoping to get it. You are just seeking to please. This is a big mistake. Life is not just your showing for others. It is a part of your show. And you are in control of your show. Do you understand? You are the show. Do not prostitute yourself. You should always learn to preserve your dignity and respect. Know who you are and what you want in your own life. Never downgrade. Life is not about survival. It is about how to find a way home. Be in the show to entertain yourself, not others. It’s a lonely journey. It’s a one-man show. If they don’t cheer for you they don’t understand your show. So what! They are in your show. That’s part of it. To get them to understand you have to change everything: posture, costume, script. Wrong!

By compromising you delay your journey, sometimes even reroute your journey. You compromise your intelligence and your dignity. Once you lose it you feel worthless. That is a sickness. You continue floating in that inner cycle and you are compromising your value. In the end you really compromise your journey. The purpose of life is being compromised. In the end, who is the biggest victim? You! Why? You miss the end of the journey. You are searching your own self. This is the journey. Why would you sacrifice so much just because you need to be somebody? You give away your control. In order to become somebody you sacrifice your integrity. They give you an illusional approval; the illusional identity and you believe it to be real. This is what I call prostitution. You lose. You lose big time. You know where you are going. So no matter what is offered, it might sound very sweet, very hopeful, very valuable, but you cannot give in. Once you bite the hook, it’s gone. Don’t be a fish going for the bait; the hook is hidden. So no matter what looks good, never ever compromise your spirit, never compromise your goal.

We need to be able to set aim on the goal and never lose it. No matter what’s out there, let it never hook you. Never bite it. It’s a one-man show. Self entertain. Let the world cheer for you voluntarily. There is at least one person who will cheer for you. That will be yourself. You can select your audience. Even if there are zero people to cheer for you, you cheer for yourself. But do not look for people to cheer for you; lest you lose your integrity. Do not compromise your own integrity and your spirit. When you want something so badly, this is when you begin to compromise. But if you do it for dialectical reasons, you can entertain yourself, but never compromise your spirit. Be flexible. This does not mean compromise. Flexible means be more skillful, more logical. This just means you are a good actor or actress. Your purpose is to unite all generations and find your way home.

Your destiny is to find a way to unite with the spirits within you, to serve the immortal within. There are two of you, an inside and an outside. Sometimes the frequency is different at the same time. Your true purpose is to merge the two to one. You need your own “marriage maker.” It is about how to make the “Snake” line go away into the void.

Master,

Thanks for sharing this. It makes sense and feels like this is the true reality.

I think it is great to be stubborn as the bull when it comes to life and cultivation and I feel that this lesson really illustrates that.

It is truly my own journey. Just thinking about that really brings joy to me. That means we really have true freedom to go beyond.

Much love and qi!

Tim

I don't care what anyone says ... you have an inate ability to hit the nail on the head so many tmes when I am "growing". This one is going to take a little time to unsort thru....how the heck do you do that!
I swear there is a link with you somewhere and sometimes it gets so frustrating...it is funny. Are you sure you don't have a hidden camera on us?

I hear what you say about not trying to be somebody. This can be very tricky and this has held me up a lot in the past because the things I want to do are not by myself and they are not hidden. They are out there amongst people and beliefs and programs. And if we hide away as I have done for the last few years and not commit to anything what are we then? If we don't play our part, what are we then to ourselves and what integrity are we upholding. To also listen to someone tell us not to "be" anyone, not to try to "be" anything - to me they are also trying to mar our integrity. Where does the passion for life and the game begin. Why should it matter so much. It never used to matter to me at all. I just did because I felt it in my heart and people took advantage of that, and I learned and I hid. It hurt a lot that it mattered a lot to "teachers" of the way and why I have no idea. you talk of plays and acting - why? Why can't we just be who we are? If I want to start a program, if I want to be a teacher, if I want to be a master of an ancient art, who is it to tell me I cannot. To play some twisted game - why? I am me. I play no other game but mine. Enough has been enough. And I guess I feel this way because I am truly pissed off at letting myself get led around by energetic influx, still playing the part, but I know that I have asked to go only where I need to go. So it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter that I make mistakes, or waste time or waste money or waste food. Because I am human. It doesn't matter that I care, it doesn't matter that I love, it doesn't matter that I see for at the same time I don't care, it does matter that I hate and I don't see. But I have seen people who are so scared to make any moves for fear that they will be described as phony or as "acting" or as fullfilling their ego. They sit and sit and sit. Being one within themselves and being one with nothing. I am here to make mistakes and sometimes if life is kind it will show me kindness, not becuase of any teaching but just because the universe is like that. We are not meant to know every flaw of ourself in this lifetime. We are not meant to succeed in that area. We are not the universal god. We are only our own god. We are only part of the universal god. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter that it matters to someone else. It only matters that it matters to me. And I don't need to spend a lifetime nor one minute figuring out why. It is just that way. I am made that way. I am made that way for a reason. That is all I can say. Your philosophy always hits a soft spot with me. I love the way you do that. But being so pissed off and not saying anything, is really giving me bladder problems and I am really pissed off about that too, in a funny sort of way. I'll chew on all this for awhile. See what I spit out.
Thanks you so much.... I truly mean that.

That sermon is very beautiful, and helpful. Kinda makes me think of how much I used to love to climb in trees as a kid. I just did, because I loved it.

So, is "how to make the "Snake" line go away into the void" referring to the same thing as "the thread running into the Way?" (Ch. 58, Tao Ching, D.C. Lau’s translation of the Ma Wang Tui Manuscripts)

I normally mentioned, "life is like a book, how would you like to write, it really is what type of book. So our own attitude determines life. Not surprisingly, we will need to go through more meaningful publication, it can give us inspiration.
